Undri is one of the prime localities of Pune, situated in the south-western part of the city. It is surrounded by the Purandar Taluka in the east, the Velhe Taluka in the west, the Pune taluka in the north and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Taluka in the south. The neighboring areas include Hadapsar, IT Park in Phursungi and the well-developed residential spots of NIBM Annexe, MG Road, Wanowrie, Bibvewadi, Fatima Nagar, Katraj-Bypass, etc. Undri is predominantly inhabited by IT Professionals, who work in companies such as Accenture, Amdocs, Centillion Technology, amongst others. ConnectivityLocated in close proximity to the Mumbai-Pune Bypass, Undri is around 7 kms from the NH 9. It is well-connected with Hadapsar, the eastern IT hotspot of Pune, via the Katraj-Hadapsar Bypass Road. The NIBM Road, which links with the Pervati Road, connects Undri to the Cantonment area. Various local and interstate highways and expressways such as the Mumbai Highway (NH 4) and the Pune Highway (NH 9) further boost the connectivity of this area. The Pune Junction is approximately at a distance of 8 kms, while the airport is about 12 kms. It is also served extensively by PMPML-run buses and shared autos that regularly ply on the route. The Katraj-Kondhwa-Phursungi-Solapur Highway is undergoing the process of being widened up to 60- meter to improve the connectivity. The proposed 170- km long Ring Road Project is believed to ease traffic congestion on Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad roads. Real estate Until about five years ago, Undri was mainly a forest land. But the last few years has witnessed immense real estate development in this part of the city. This rapidly-developing area has become a lucrative spot for residential property investment. The Ring Road, which is currently under-construction lies close by, and that is believed to bring about a rise in the property prices. The popular types of projects here include multi-storey apartments, villas, and row houses. Several big-ticket developers have launched major projects here.
