A suburb in eastern Mumbai, Chembur is situated at a distance of 22 kilometres from the city centre. The neighbouring suburbs include Deonar, Kurla, Govandi, Mahul, Ghatkopar, and Chunabhatti. Several colonies such as BPCL, Tilak Nagar, Pestom, Chedda Nagar, Tata Colony, HPCL, Shell Colony, and Indian Oil Nagar on Mankhurd Link Road fall in the area.
