Bopal is a well-known residential locality in Ahmedabad, which was granted a municipality status in February, 2015. Previously a part of Ahmedabad rural, this area will now be governed by an administrator. In the last 5 to 7 years, it has witnessed a significant growth, especially in terms of infrastructure. Connectivity A BRTS route is being built, which will run from Bopal-Ambli Road to Ghuma via Bopal Cross Roads. Since the last decade or so, many new properties have come up in the vicinity. The hotspot of this locality is the south Bopal area, while the north Bopal area, often termed as the Chocolate Road, passes through Bopal Lake, DPS, Indian Space Research Organization Colony, GEB Electrical Supply Office, and is finally connected to Shela Road. The locality also boasts of smooth connectivity to prime areas such as Vatva, Thaltej, Nava Naroda, Makarba, Bavla, Vaishno I Circle, Nana Chiloda, and the SG Highway, amongst others. The Gala-Gymkhana Road is another chief road in the locality, besides the Chocolate Road. Due to high traffic in the main road connecting Ghuma and Bopal with SP Singh Road, the AUDA has announced the construction of a flyover on SP Singh Road at the Bopal Cross Roads. Real Estate In recent years, there has been a considerable rise in demand for villas, apartments, and residential plots in this area. Most of the emerging properties are now connected with drainage line, along with the construction of rain water pipeline. The initiative of widening the roads in Bopal was also taken up by AUDA. There are several builders who have started their projects in this area and real estate has got a major boost in recent times. Social InfrastructureThe multiplex theatre City Gold and a Community Health Centre (CHC) are other important landmarks of the area. The area is home to numerous prestigious educational institutions such as Tulip International School, Shiv Ashish Boarding School, Cosmos Castle International School, Asiatic School, RH Kapadia School, Mother Teresa Memorial School, DAV International School, St. Anns School, Shri Ram Vidyalaya, Little Bard High School, Satyamev Jayate International School, and many others. Besides, Ahmedabad Homeopathic Medical College, College of Dental Science and Research Centre, Mudra Institute of Communication and Advertising, Anant Institute of Architecture, etc. are the reputed colleges in this locality. The Umiya Mata Temple is a major landmark of this area. The Bopal Lake and Ghuma Lake also attract visitors. These are not only large in size, but also have a temple in the lakes centre.This area hosts a number of hospitals that promise quality health care facilities to the local residents. These include the Mamta Hospital, Shreeji Children Hospital, Vaishali Hospital, Krishna Heart Institute, Doshi Hospital, Sahyog Hospital, Multispecialty Hospital, and Shivam Hospital, amongst others.
